1GB of ram should be fine.  If you want to upgrade, I wouldn't buy more than
2GB.  For this MacBook, even heavy Photoshop use sees negligible improvement
with more than 2GB installed.  The MacBooks I see with 1GB are fine until
there are multiple windows, each with Flash videos and other photo apps
running.
