Hi All,
I still do not have my Wallstreet functioning yet, but I am making a wish
list. Questions have arisen. Since this is my wish list thought I would ask
the group how reasonable to expect to be able to do these things and if
reasonable/possible any thought as to cost?
1) Okay- HD is 2G and OS 9.2 is on it. Internet surfing (just light stuff-
checking email) was pretty much not happening--so I am guessing I need to go to
OS X--anyone have preference as to which would be the minimum and still get the
job done? I am guessing it also means a bigger HD...how big as a minimum?
2). I bought the card (or at least "a" card) that is supposed to allow USB
capability, but have not been able to try it (remember- dead Wallstreet)--so
USB is a possibility. BUT, Inernet+portable screams Airport. That means buying
a wireless router- right? What specific card? I have been reading and it
looks as if there are differences of opinion as to which will or will not work.
3.)I understand there is actually a DVD module for the Wallstreet--if so, it is
the only one I do not have. It sounds as if the quality of the image is not
all that great--what is the opinion of those with that module --i.e. is it
worth trying to locate one of the modules?
As I say, this is my wish list-- when all is said and done- any opinion on
whether or I ought to just "scrap"(Shudder that is such a harsh word!!) this
and go to a newer portable mac? Do you think that would be cheaper now --or is
a newer Mac going to be substantially more expensive than modifiying (if
possible) a Wallstreet?
Okay- just thought I would get other perspectives on it. My
Wallstreet has been such a good little computer....
Thanks Sheryl Birkhead
