Can a battery go from 2.5 hours capacity to non-existent overnight? I
vaguely recall from somewhere that it might possible to disconnect the
powerboard connection when replacing a hard drive. Looking at
iFixit I don’t
see how that could be done. Could I have damaged the charging
circuitry
doing the drive replacement. Replacing the drive is the only time
I’ve ever
had the case open.
I recently had the exact same resulting occurence with a Wally
battery. But I have two Wally's and three batteries so I was able to
isolate the problem
and determine that the Battery went bad. I don't know anything you
could do in a Wallstreet changing a HDD that would involve the PMU.
maybe you can use a pencil eraser to clean the battery contacts, also
after the HDD replacement and fresh install did you reset the machine
via the three lower left and power keys?
