Yeah- that's why I want to keep using it!! The resolution on the newer laser
printers (color) is--I think 300dpi and this 2100M is 1200dpi--that is what I m
used to!!

Thanks- not that I will= actually DO anything- but I monkeyed around with
it--trying to pry that cover off since the pictures I saw showed the internal
ports--but could not figure out how to get at it.  Not sure if it would
actually do me any good since all I am trying to do is keep it working--and I
really love it!!

an- I feel silly- now that you told me how- it pops right off and I see the
spot where the cable plugs in! I wasted a lot of time prying and tugging-
thinkingit would pop off... Um..er...please excuse my ignorance--all I see
inside is a (oh boy I'm in trouble now) a long slot (vertical). Again- for
years I have thought ethernet meant wireless--ether... So I need time to catch
up- what does an ethernet port look like? IF one is that, does that mean I can
get the printer to interface with a Mac that has an ethernet port (seems
logical, but just checking) I suspect the thing I am looking at is NOT what
you meant- since it is about 2 inches long (about 5 cm.). I have the manual
and under other things it shows a cable (calling it an interface cable) with a
huge narrow connection--plugging in (as opposed to the one that actually came
with it. Is this ehternet? If so it is HUGE?? Wait a minute- hold the
presses- in an earlier diagram things are (tah
dah!) labeled- the round port is shown as a slight blow up and labeled
LocalTalk Port. The long narrow one is also in a slight blow up and labeled
Parallel port (IEEE-1284). Have I made any progress in getting it to
communicate with any other Macs- or is this just a nice gee whiz factor..?

But, hey- just by being able to open up that "door" I feel as if I have
accomplished something (doesn't take much to entertain me!)

 Oh the excitement!!
