The whole thing sounds highly unusual. The Pismo is not subject to the
8GB partition rule at all. I have a 100GB HDD in mine, partitioned in
two: 80GB for 10.4.11 and Classic, and 20GB for pure unadulterated
9.2.2. And for a while I ran Tiger with a 250GB, with the help of the
Intech HiCap dirver.

Either your PowerBook is not a Pismo, like Clark suggests, or there's
something really strange going on.

You haven't said what OS you're using. That would be helpful, too.
