Have been using a Kensington Universal Car Air Adapter for Apple [#33057.] I
picked it up at the time, because it was one of the early models then designed
to be flexible with changeable power tips to service both G3s and G4s.
However, one deficiency it has in comparison to the newer Apple AC power
adapters, is the Apple hot tip that lights up orange or green disclosing
whether needing charging, or, charged. The Kensington "portable" adapter
doesn't have that type tip which on occasion, proves to be problematic, in not
alerting when the connection may be open.
Are there third party models that do? Does Apple, which I expect has its own
portable adapter, have one in keeping with the informative power tip? It's a
great feature compared to not having it at all.
