You may physically have 512 Mb it's entirely possible the computer will only 
see 384.  Some 256 Mb SODIMMs only show up as 128 MB.  You need to find a 256 
Mb SODIMM that specifically works with a Lombard.

An 802.11b card is NOT going to (and never did) connect to a router using 5GHz, 
only 2.4GHz.  

It takes an 80211n card to use 5GHz, neither a "g" nor "b" will.
