I've seen dozens of legit auctions for OS 10.3 and 10.4 CD's on eBay, so just comparative shop and don't be afraid to ask the sellers questions.
Side note, OS 10.4 runs great on the Pismo (even the 400) and that will give you access to 802.11g WiFi cards for speedier web surfing.
