With some jumping of hoops, you can run Snow Leopard on a late 2011 MBP. Mine
was made in March 2012, replacing a 2006 model. I upgraded to latest system
then found out about the Rosetta issue since I'm still using an early version
of FileMake Pro so I had to drop down to Snow Leopard again. The MBP will
accept it if you swap in a hard drive with it pre-installed.

Good Luck
