check group

you could try from OpenFirmware, there is some documentation with 
netBSD/macppc, or on similar iBoot on chronicdev, I remember I learned how 
to list the complete device tree in not too much time googling and 
folllowing links, at least you could see if OFW recognizes your SSD, at 
very, very best change some specs or add in a driver on this machine level.
