Greetings, My old reliable workstation, a Digital Audio Dual 533 decided not to start a few days ago. The APC backup battery it was on wore out and I just left everything off for a couple days. When I next tried to start the G4, the power light glowed only when I held it, no drives spun up, no chime, no nothing. The power strip feeding the G4, its display, and a few peripherals, is working, as everything else powers up. I installed a newish clock battery and still nothing. I can't think of anything else to pound on, so I need the groups help! Any suggestions will be appreciated! IIRC, this is one of the models that will have starting issues with a low-voltage PRAM battery. Pull the power, and PRAM battery, press the cuda switch a couple times, and see if it starts after that without replacing the PRAM battery. If it does, a new PRAM cell will fix it. -- Bruce Johnson University of Arizona College of Pharmacy Information Technology Group Institutions do not have opinions, merely customs -- -- You received this message because you are a member of G-Books, a group for those using G3 iBooks and PowerBooks (we run a separate list for G4 'Books).
