I've been having big problems with OS X on my Pismo and I think I've
narrowed it down to the ColorSync profile I downloaded here:
http://forums.xlr8yourmac.com/software/Pismo_iBookProfiles.sit
I'm wondering if other people have been experiencing this problem and
why? If the ColorSync profile is the problem, I thought people should be
warned.
My OS X has been failing for the past month and I haven't been able to
figure out the problem. After a couple of hours of use any new
applications I launch "unexpectedly quits". When I reboot, I can't get
back into X. The finder quits repeatedly and I have to go back to 9.1. I
reinstalled X several times, even formated my HD a couple of times, but
the problem always returned after a couple of hours of use. This has
taken up tons of my time and has been very frustrating.
This last time it failed shortly after installing the ColorSync profile.
I didn't believe that could be the problem, but I removed the file and
bingo. OS X started right up. I'm not even sure if these profiles were
meant for X, or if I did something else wrong, but I thought people
should be warned. I installed it under Library/ColorSynch/Profiles and
selected the profile in the Displays preference.
