I helped a friend get his bronze "Lombard" fixed while he was overseas. I took the machine to a local repair shop who diagnosed a faulty main board. They figured the best deal was to send it in to Apple for repair. For the stock repair price of $400, Apple replaced the mobo, replaced the hinges, the sound card and the CD drive. No one even asked about the sound card and the CD. So the long answer is that if you have some other big problem, you may well get the hinges thrown in, but I don't think Apple will just repair the hinges for free. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- Jim Eddy James Eddy Woodworks [EMAIL PROTECTED] Princeton, NJ http://home.earthlink.net/~giametti/index.htm ------------------------------------------------------------------------ -- -- G-Books is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
