I've got full size 512 in my lower slot as well. Adding memory to the top slot is trivial, the lower slot is a little more compliated, but not tough.
I'm a big fan of OWC as well. I've only had 1 problem with them in over 20 orders, and that was a glitch in their ordering system that sent the package to the wrong address. They had it reshipped to me within 3 days.
