You missed my point ...

The only upgrade I have made to my Pismo is RAM, it has a stock 10GB, I 
run Jag ... life is good ... and he never said what the specs of his 
Pismo were.

I know, if a person can find one exception then obviously the statement 
is entirely wrong ... There are almost no Canon, HP, or Epson scanners 
that are not supported either through pluggins to Photoshop or Graphic 
Converter, or through VueScan, or through Image Capture. I have yet to 
hear of a USB digital camera that is not  recognized. Printers [Epson 
inkjets ... arg] are another story. What brands are you dealing with 
when you say these things?

The cost is not so much in Jag but in the other items, I run 7.6 on 
some old Macs I have, it depends on the job, but a Pismo is a hearty 
Mac and other than wanting more RAM for excellent performance a stock 
Pismo does just fine.
