I guess the biggest issue is that FW is not standard on most Wintel. So, all
those mice, keyboards and hard drives that come out have to work both on
Wintel and Mac, so the lowest common denominator is USB. I don't remember
seeing any mouse or keyboard with FW. Likewise, there aren't a lot of
peripheral makers that offer their products only for the Macintosh...
