I'm not affiliated with Apple in any way, and I don't give a rats *ss about
USB 2. The PC world can *keep* it as far as I am concerned. I do not and
can't forsee any reason I would need it. Unless Keyboards and Mice start
coming in USB 2 *only* I will never need or use USB 2. It's just like PS 2
IMHO. >>

Once again, Kyle, thanks for defending my position. I don't know where this
guy is coming from.

I do not work for Apple in any capacity -- just love the platform. But I am a
graphic designer, so I definitely need plenty of peripherals to do my work.
Every scanner I've looked at that's worth having, from low cost to high,
includes a Firewire port (some even still use SCSI). Every decent digital
still camera is still using USB 1.1, including the Nikon 5700 I just bought a
couple of months ago. My graphics tablet is USB 1.1. The one low-end printer
I have uses USB 1.1; my other two printers are network printers, so they
connect via Ethernet. I have a Firewire webcam. I have two CD-RWs -- one
stays in the office -- it's Firewire. The portable one is also Firewire and
fits into the pocket of my TiBook case. I don't need a card scanner, because
I use an adapter for the compact flash that my Nikon uses, and read the cards
through the PC card slot on the TiBook. My external hard drive is Firewire. I
don't know what kinds of peripherals this guy is looking at or where he is
geographically. Maybe Indonesia or something. USB 2 is completely unnecessary
on the Mac.
