Check the model number of the module. (On the bottom of the drive when you remove it) If it is M7931 (DRN-8080B) then you have the LG drive, and it's going bad on you. If you still have AppleCare, then run, do not walk to Apple's support and have them replace it, and try to demand that you get a Matsushita drive in replacement. I don't know if it will work, but it can't hurt to try. You know, I am having difficulties believing that Apple still pretends that there is not a problem with this drive. Has anybody thought about a class action suit? I'm not normally in favor of these things, but this is getting a bit ridiculous. There is definitely something wrong with this particular drive, yet Apple pretends that there is nothing wrong.
