I've heard this as well. I've replaced the hard drive on 3 of the Pismo 
machines I've owned over the years and the one time I had to take one 
of them in for an unrelated service issue, they didn't say anything 
about the drive. Besides, swapping the drive in the Pismo is really 
easy.

If you're going to be keeping the computer for a while, consider a fast 
drive. It makes a noticeable difference in performance.
