Now that I'm thinking about it, did you try the OpenFirmware Password app
that Apple released not long ago? Sure, it won't prevent someone from
booting the PowerBook, but they can't boot from anything else than what was
set to boot. I don't know how easy or hard it is to defeat, but it seems
reasonably a good protection.
