Yes, thanks, I've seen that, but it's not quite the same. What I was 
looking for was what was available for several years in the CDEV I 
previously described; simply the ability to shut the 'Book, walk away 
and know your files can't be modified or viewed by the casual or nosey 
observer or inadvertent meddler. Everything subsequent to that lost 
capability requires an extra step which is departed from my normal 
behavior.

As it stands, every workaround that is available is nice, but it still 
imposes upon me in some way. It doesn't impose on me enough to stop 
using X and revert to 9.x or earlier capacities, but it doesn't stop me 
from wishing to have that feature back;)
