I know, I am an ACT and the site you download em from says stuff that would make you think you joined the CIA. I also know many people have them but many times in the past list nannies have said not to post to them on this list, I just thought I would try and help by restating that.

The question isn't voiding your warrantee, and its not even really who the manuals are for, its that its against list policy to post em. Nanny - if I am wrong set me straight.

Well, "internal Apple" is not quite true. Any certified service tech has them, and having service source docs isn't really that big a deal. Lots of people have them.

If you service your own PowerBook then you void the warranty, but some of us are willing to take that risk. I've seen many techs work on PowerBooks and I'll void my warranty gladly to do my own work. I'm far more careful and know everything I need to when working on them. Most techs who work in a shop are going too fast. The last time a certified Mac tech worked on my old Wall Street he broke something that wasn't broken when I took it in. I watched him do it. That didn't make me happy. We have a guy here in the city where I live who deals in used Mac PowerBook parts (buys and sells on e-bay) and he's not certified but he's better than either certified Mac tech we have in town. So it's not always a cut 'n' dried situation. I'm going to trust me before I trust most any tech.
