I had the same 'coincidence'. I found even booting natively into 9 showed the same reduced battery life, after installing 10. Were you upgrading from 9 to jag or from another version of 10? I noticed battery life reduction each time; a lot (~50%) 9 > 10.1, maybe 10 - 15% more, 10.1 > Jag. Anybody have info re Pismo/Panther battery life?
I asked some months ago if this was Pismoapoptosis. No real answers to my question, but did others find this? Surely some of our techhy people must know.
Wouldn't it be nice for the updater notes to advise 'Pismo owners might experience considerably reduced battery life under System .............."
In my business, customers are pretty reasonable, but the thing they hate is 'surprises'; 'yes, we told you we would ship last Friday, but maybe we will get it out next week or the week later'. Could you imagine 'Didn't I tell you your fuel milage would be halved with your 2004 Saturn?'
You have to be up front with your customers. Surprises are the fastest way to loose them. But then mine are only mildly 'captive'.
I have noticed other updates (not Apple) which deliberately disable very useful features of already installed software, without advice to you.
Perhaps some of our US citizen listas could ask your lawmakers to require software and or updates, which negatively affect your computer intentionally or coincidentally, etc without advice to you beforehand, to have a simple 'restore to original feature set and performance' feature????
And refund if appropriate.

I finally upgraded my Pismo to Jaguar several weeks ago, and immediately
noticed that the 2 hrs. or so that I could get out of my battery
(especially if I really dimmed the screen and used a minimal extension
set) in 9.2 had shrunken (is that a word??) to less than an hour with
Jaguar, even when I selected maximum batter life configuration. Has
anyone else noted this problem, or was it just coincidence
