If the CD plays on other units it MAY not be your unit....IIRC, I recently saw an article in the Register that several co.'s have installed that "new" copy protection on their cd's w/out notifying the public. This May be the case w/your cd...There were reports that these cd's would play on some Apple players and not others...Probably dependent on the laser alignment,etc. There was discussion about the fact that there were intentional glitches placed in the startup codes burned into the cd that the laser reads....if it isn't exact, it wouldn't read....HTH
