What you wrote in your message was "To convert them you burn the tracks to an Audio CD, then re-rip them back from the CD you burned. Yes it's lossy, but it's unavoidable." I took it as if burning the tracks to Audio CD and grabbing them back would be lossy, while it's in fact all digital... (*) My fault, I forgot that the loss is introduced when you grab them from CD and convert back to AAC/MP3/whatever. Of course, you can do it with new Lossless codec, but then you lose space, and some data is still gone from the original AAC encoding.
Sorry you had to write all this explanation, hopefully it'll be useful to somebody else.
Anyway, weren't they hacks allowing you to bypass the FairPlay DRM mechanisms from iTMS? I vaguely remember some info appearing on MacInTouch.
(*) or is it? Audio CD format does not have much data correction and this is exactly the reason of my question... I was hoping this is what you referred to and that you have more info than I do. :)
