I have no personal experience here, but I did run across advice a year or two ago that said at all cost, avoid the current "a/b" combo card (if my memory serves me well, that was in regard to the Wallstreet)l. I tend to think that there were some good reasons for that advice. >As you have experienced, the >standard Apple AirPort software won't recognize the card under OS 9... What am I missing here? I am shocked at some of the people whose advice I regard highly, making this statement? Oh, wait a minute, if Laurent above is referring specifically to the Orinoco a/b card, I won't disagree at all. But if like another poster earlier, he was referring to the Orinoco cards as a whole, then I *know* that's wrong. I'm using the Orinoco Classic Gold (which means it's a 802.11b) card right now in my Wallstreet II with Apple's Airport software version 2.0.4 under OS 8.6. I use it all the time under 9.2.2. And just for the record, 2 or 3 people have recommended installing the IOXperts OS X WiFi driver when using the Orinoco cards. That driver will work. However, it's not the only one that will. Plus it is shareware ($$). The Sourceforge wireless driver will also work and is freeware. So you have more than one choice.
