I guess you will be the one making the final decision so it's up to you. People here are just making suggestions/recommendations based on your initial post. In my view, any laptop that has an impact may harbour hidden problems. I.e. I am not sure how it got damaged in this car accident : 1. Was it in a case and fell of the seat OR 2. Did he just have it sitting on the front seat (out of a case) and it slammed into the door or floor on impact. Either way, any impact that left a dent, regardless of the size, would cause me concern. Anyway, it's up to you. You're the one that's going to be using it, not us. If you feel comfortable with it - go for it. If you have any doubts, look for something else.
