That is a ridiculous statement.  I have clients sending in there laptops to
Apple all the time.  Dozens of them.  The most common turn around time is 72
hours.  This is an ISOLATED incident.

And buying a $400 LCD would be a better buy?

One should, however, always have a backup computer.
