Normally I hardly hear the fan on my 333mhz Lombard, but sometimes after using it for awhile on my lap or bed the fan suddenly gets louder and warm air is pushed out the left side. This has not yet happened while using it on a desk. At first I'd panic and shut down as soon as possible. When I grew tired of this I started keeping it on but moving it onto a desk. Normally the exhaust fan then stops after a few minutes.
I suppose this is the computer's way of cooling itself when getting too hot? My question is, is this a normal thing I can ignore, or is it a warning to shut down for awhile?
