There's something about spamming that has me puzzled.

I'm at a loss to see how it pays. I can't imagine enough people dim enough to buy something from a spammer. Who could possibly believe they could get anything worth having from someone who obviously is out to exploit and annoy them? I have been known to underestimate human stupidity, but it seems that there can't be enough people out there that dumb who still have any money left to take away from them.

It would also seem that if spamming really does pay, this undermines one of the foundations of classical economics, which is supposed to be based on the idea that buyers are rational people pursuing goals favorable to themselves.
