Most likely, the tools you used to troubleshoot the problem failed to spot
it. You should be able to install OS X on a Wallstreet. Since the
crashes/freezes seem to occur randomly, I would guess that there is
something loose in the Wallstreet and the heat at some point causes the
failure. I would suspect the memory, again, or the processor daughterboard
is not firmly in place. If that Wallstreet has been opened a few times, it
is possible that the join between the CPU and the heatshield has become weak
and doesn't do its job properly in dissipating the heat resulting in the
processor overheating up to a point where the freezes occur.
