Just tried it & it worked fine for me. Though if it's the only way
for you to enter dates, we may be looking at different pages; on the
page I tested, you can also click on the little calendar icon to the
right of the date, and then click on a date in the pop-up calendar.
That also worked for me.
I'm using 10.4.3 with the latest Safari. So I don't think Safari is
the problem here (or at least the only problem). In fact, Safari
fails to work so rarely that I don't even remember the last time it
failed. Oh, except it and the Mozilla-based browsers all used to
give a java error when I tried to refill pr*scr*pt**ns at my
insurer's online ph**m*cy, but that's been fixed.
(In Safari I have the debug menu activated, and the user agent
"automatically chosen"; I may once or twice have changed it to IE for
a site.)
