they complained about viruses, malware, and security patches for
their users Windows computers, I talked up the Mac. It did no good.
These men and woman were, for the most part, trained from day one in
colleges, tech schools, and universities that were deeply in bed with
Microsoft. They had no experience with any OS other than Microsoft
because their training included nothing but Microsoft software. From
their (very limited) experience software was buggy and operating
systems had security holes. My talk about better server software and
better operating systems fell on deaf ears because they couldn't
conceive of any other state of affairs.
So you are right. Win users don't believe us. They can't conceive of
anything else. I enjoy doing really mean things like showing them the
uptime of my server and notebook. It really boggles their minds to
see that I've not rebooted my computer in over a month or that my
server has been up for over 180 days.
