..comming out of lurkerhood for this one....
OK, I have been noticing that this is a fairly common mystery, and
here is my twist:
With my original 6gb drive in my Pismo, I put an Airport card in it
and it was working perfectly, using either System 9.2.2 or OSX10.3
which I set up in different partitions.
Then I upgraded to a 30gb drive (not easy) and the Airport card works
fine with System 9 but doesn't want to work with my freshly installed
OSX 10.3. I also updated the Airport driver to 4.2, like the update
told me to but still no go. If in OSX I go to the Airport icon on the
upper right, it tells me that the card is on. But if I go to Apple
Profiler it tells me the card is turned off. Argh.
So it is now my intention to put back my original drive and study
what has changed.
Unfortunately, whereas I know System 9 like the back of my hand, I am
a relative newcomer to OSX.
If any of you OSX experts can provide me with a systematic checklist
of stuff I should be looking for in all those panes and permissions
and whatnot, no stone or clue will be unturned and I will post my
findings here and perhaps we can all benefit from them.
Thanking anyone who cares to respond in advance,
Norman
