Yes, I access Earthlink from both my Compaq and my
G4 without problems.

And, incredibly, you can also use Earthlink as a "front end" to AO-Hell, as I
am, both for Mac and PC.
I currently use *no* Earthlink software nor content at all, preferring to use
the PPPoE product which is a product of the manufacturer of the router I own
(and I can eliminate that product, too, when I figure out all the options of
the router itself).
Earthlink is using Covad in my area and Covad took more than one month to
make the Earthlink-to-Covad-to-PacBell connection work properly after the
completion of "last mile" installation by PacBell.
Then, after one month of good service, the DSL connection suddenly
disappeared. Probably Covad again, as Earthlink's PPP (dial) connection still
works fine.
Many, many calls to Earthlink's first-level support were met with greater
than 45 minute wait time, so I gave up and sent them an e-mail detailing my
problems.
In summary, my Earthlink DSL experience was more than a month of hell
(Earthlink-Covad-PacBell fingerpointing), most of which required first-,
second- *and* third-level support, then one month of excellent service with
only four DSL disconnects, then hell again.
In support of Earthlink, its dial service is very good ... perhaps better
than AO-Hell's ... and I used it extensively on a recent trip.
Chose your ISP *very* carefully!!!!!
