That's Odd to hear, most people consider the Beige G3 the most stable
"modern" Mac made. I have actually never heard a complaint about them
before.
On my 266, I added a 450MHz G3 (clocked to 533MHz), a Rev C ROM, a 20GB and
now I've just replaced that with a 40GB Hard Drive along with the original
6GB, two new video cards, and then a Sony 8x4x32 CD-RW. the only thing I'm
still thinking about is the bus speed, How much of an improvement will I get
going from 66Mhz to 83Mhz
The only trouble I've ever had was adding a USB card, Its a known problem
that some Beige G3's wont wake from sleep once Apples USB extensions are
loaded. Well I like Sleep better than USB so the card was removed.

I guess its past even any extended warranty you might have purchased, but if
it was really troublesome you should have had it looked at during Apples
warranty. Especially since this is not something that was common or even
occasionally reported. I'm not sure what problems you are having, but if you
have tried reinstalling system software (which I am sure you have) you must
have some hardware problem that is only slightly off spec. Defective ram
chip, Motherboard, Hard Drive, or even the processor.
I would try some troubleshooting if I were you to see if you could figure
out what's causing the problem, Remove the existing ram and throw in a new
chip for a few days, Down-Clock the processor to something low like 233MHz,
stick in an old HD and boot from it. Try them one at a time and see if any
fix the problems

Good Luck
Ray
