--------------------------
I put Adaptec 29160 PCI/SCSI cards in my 9600's and run a
Quantum Atlas II 10,000 RPM drive from it. And put in a Sonnet ATA-66
PCI/IDE card in to run the Maxtor drives. In my opinion this makes
the 50 MHz system bus no problem.
I upgraded up my son's new G4/733 and my 9600 with an XLR8
G4/450 processor upgrade (And the above listed upgrades in both
computers) both at the same time, so I had the opportunity to run the
two machines side by side. We do mostly Photoshop. The difference
in speed between these two machines in Photoshop was not enough to be
a problem for me.
I have a new G4 now but I can tell you I'll be an old,
grizzled sheep before I give up my three 9600's.
Well, I'm an old, grizzled sheep now. But I ain't giving up my 9600's.
