if there vendor blew them off, there's not much they can do. it's not
reasonable to expect them to take a loss just because one of thier
suppliers took a dump on them. now if vst didn't really blow them off,
then i'd be mad, but it's hard to sell what you can't get. at least
they notified you, some companies would just blow you off and wait for
the angry call. did they say they'd have them latter? did vst raise
the price or qoute them a good price and try to pull a bait and switch?
it is inconvenient and a dissapointment, but there's only so much a
vendor can do.

what were you going to do with a tiny 6g drive? it's too small for
serious multimedia. better to get an internal ata or an external scsi.

if you read thier policies, they no doubt have a clause about "force
majure" (probably the wrong spelling, i'm not french), these clauses
specifically release them from things beyond thier control, like a
flood, a riot, a fire at the plant, a labor strike, etc.

i'd be disapointed too! but you can't expect them to bend over
backwards for everyones enjoyment, it hardly helps anyone if they go out
of business. wish i could suggest an alternative.
