i agree, sites should provide accurate availability info, i've had major
problems with grainger in this regard, constantly promising to have it
in a week. i gave up after a month of that and got something they had
in stock, and fortunately they really did have stock. as far as
commercial contracts between vendors, they usually come with enough loop
holes that any party can do anything. i agree, many vendors are guilty
of this, and it's getting worse. problem is there's precious little
acountability in a corporation (even before the lawyers start arguing
about what "is" means), and the slime is rising to the top. confirming
what you can't do is definately very poor business practice, and
probably illegal- in most cases. certainly this seems to be the case
with maczone, i will definately add them to the "black list" (along with
several people on ebay). i actually do maintain a list of bad vendors,
it's the only way to keep track of them long term. sadly the better
business bureu is largely a joke. sorry, i can't spell today, and for
some reason netscape isn't helping like it usually does. p.s., i don't
dislike lawyers so much as i dislike the legal system, game theory
definately applies.
