All this year I've used Internet Explorer 5.0 and Outlook Express 5.02 on a G3 MT
running OS 9.1 at 333 MHz with 256 MB of RAM. Virtual Memory is on, set at 257 MB.
I've never had a problem with either of these programs. But they are the default
browser and e-mail programs for OS 9.1, and the machine has plenty of memory to cope
with them. I've always found it's best to use the software designed for the OS and
allow plenty of memory. Obvious, but true.

I don't intend to move to OS 10 until I have to (and that may be never) because
everything works just fine now.

By the way, did you ever see any of the graphics for the Sydney 2000 Olympics? They
were probably designed on this Mac. The Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic
Games had just two Macs - a G4 and this G3 - among its hundreds of PCs. I bought the
G3 at the Remains of the Games auction of SOCOG equipment late last year.

Just a happy memory in these trying times.

God bless America!
