I'll agree with Kyle that I've had good success with metabox (only bought 2 cards from them though) and the process was very straightforward and had no problems with them... Allthe reviews I've seen have been favorable also... The ones I've been warned away from right now are newer technologies... Since they've gone south I've heard that a lot of the cards out there tht are good deals can have problems (bad cache most notably). I can definetly understand your frustrations...
