Well, I didn�t see his message so he very well could have just trying to help you out and give you a warning to be careful so you don�t see yourself in trouble... Apple legal is hyper sensitive and really pro-active (I kind of view this in a good way now, ie I'm told their legal team is =top-notch= now after the debacle that happened with them basically licensing the mac-os look and feel to microsoft forever via poorly worded-contract). All depends on how it was worded...
