That would be great news if the software contractors got around to providing
OS X compatibility. IIRC, it was FirmTek who provided the firmware for the
VST/Smartdisk controller, as well as for other controllers. And I see
FirmTek is still operating, so in theory there should be no reason not to
provide the firmware; the potential problem may be VST/Smartdisk, which is a
supremely non-customer service oriented company (at least in my experience).
I don't know how much we can count on them.
Given the similarities between cards, any chance that the firmware developed
for another card would work with the Ultratek ATA/66?
