Every design firm in Seattle has Microsoft on its client list. Landor's Seattle office was opened specifically to service MS and The Leonardt Group does a lot of packaging and identity work for them, too.
There are smaller firms out here that do nothing but help design & maintenance the huge microsoft.com site. Ironically, my ex-boss was a marketing manager for MS and he said they found that something like half the pages they put up, never get read! This comes from their own server logs.
