Ola,

I'm not sure, but I could swear that I read about a drive formatting utility
that can repartition a drive without erasing it, or something of the sort.

You see, we've got a Beige G3 Rev. 1 desktop that can't mount a 2nd IDE
drive and is currently HFS formatted with 3 partitions. My back up system
consists of keeping a copy of crucial stuff on a partition set aside just
for that.

I now need to format the drive in the HFS+ format for OS X and my only
option would seem to be using MediaFour's MacDrive 2000
(http://www.media4.com/products/) trial version on a friend's Windows
machine to copy the contents of my drive onto his & use his CD-Writer to
copy it to a CD-R. Has anyone here used MacDrive ?

Any ideas or comments ?

Cheers,
Joel
