When Apple made the G3 128MB was the largest ram stick available. Apple does not ever go back and update their specs just because someone made new/bigger sticks. You can put in 256MB in each slot for a total of 768MB. It can be PC100 PC133 or even old PC66. (Just make sure that you don't buy the 256ram that is 32x8 it will only see 128 of it. The memory controller in the beige can only see 16MB on each chip on the ram stick) To be safe just go to http://www.macseek.com/ and buy from one of its listings (OWC has 256MB for $22.99 and 18004memory has it for only $19)
