My guess is that people who are having tracking problems with optical 
mouses are using them on uneven surfaces, like printed mousepads. When I 
first got my Apple Pro, I was using one with a blue and red picture and 
large white text. It would jump slightly as it went from one section to 
another. A dark, solid color works best. I now use a black one with no 
problems.

It would be nice if it came in different sizes.
