I have 3 computers, an iBook (sometimes on Airport, only use 100Mbps
for large file moving), a G3 and a PC, a D-Link DFE-905DX 100Mbps
hub. It's full duplex, auto-sensing and has an Uplink port so it does
cross-over to another hub/switch (which we have at the core of our
network) without a special cable. It was 56 (UK) and is a nice piece
of kit. There are cheaper hubs but the cheaper the hub, the less it
can handle as per collisions and stuff go (AFAIK - YMMV). All I
recommend is that you buy a new one not a second had one as older
auto-sensing switches are known to suffer problems with 1Gbps
ethernet cards (we had to replace ours as a friends QS 733 would link
to it).
