Hi Jerry, Three ways:
1. Open the case and look at the ATI graphics controller chip. It is a square chip near the built in video connector. If it's marked Rage II, then you have the earlier model which does not support slave/master drives. If it says Rage Pro you have the later one. 2. Build date. Look at the date of manufacture. After May 1 1998 it should have the later ROMs. 3. However, it may well be that the ROM in your machine is not the original, so use the Apple System Profiler in system 9.0 or later to read the BIOS ID. This is really the best way and will tell you which version of the ROM you have. I don't remember the BIOS codes off the top of my head, but perhaps another list member could post them ?
