I just upgraded my B&W G3-350 by installing a OWC G4/500 zif upgrade and wow!!! So far everything is faster and stable. I am also thinking of replacing the original CDR with a DVD drive and was wondering if it is better to get the DVD decoder card that came with some original G3s or use the patched DVD 2.2 player that does not require the card. People selling the decoder card say that it is better not to use the CPU for DVD playback. Since I have a G4 CPU should I still use the card? Any ideas would be appreciated. I also have a Voodoo 5 video card that I pulled out of my old 8500, collecting dust and was wondering if anyone currently uses this card to drive a DVI flat screen in a B&W G3 and how they like it.
